Aromatherapy Massage

This treatment is available in 60 or 90 minute sessions - see Rates section for price details.

Aromatherapy is the most holistic of the massages offered, using 100% pure quality essential oils, derived from plants, flowers, leaves, roots and bark, to target many issues of the body, mind and spirit. Each treatment begins with an assessment of where the client is at, in their physical, emotional and spiritual aspects.

Drawing from this, and with an understanding of what smells a client likes, the therapist devises an aromatherapy blend of essential oils. This is then mixed with a carrier oil for gently massaging the body, which transfers the oils into the client's system mainly through absorption into the skin, but also through inhalation.

Aromatherapy is an ancient art, dating back to 2000BC, used to help with many different issues, including emotional, mood, spiritual, circulation, digestion, muscular aches, joint pains, respiratory, skin, urinary and reproductive issues. Many issues can be targeted by one aromatherapy blend of essential oils.

Aromatherapy is not just about a nice smell, it is about finding personalised, effective blends of essential oils to help treat your whole system. Each massage and blend can give quite differing results for clients, depending on where they are at and what essential oils have been used...

Deep Tissue Hot Stone Massage

This treatment includes Hot Stones to help melt away your muscle tension!  This treatment is available in 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions - see Rates section for price details.

This massage is performed by starting with a deeply warming Hot Stone Massage to really warm up and relax the muscles, giving a more intense level of relaxation than massage using hands. Neuro-Muscular techniques are then used to help break down muscle abnormalities found through palpating the muscles. This involves the use of fingers, hands, forearms and elbows, with oils, to glide over the skin and apply deeper pressure to the underlying muscles and joints.

This massage is more suitable for people with reoccurring aching muscles, those that find themselves aching after physical work or exercise, or people that just prefer a deeper, more effective massage. ...Back to top of page

Hot Stone Therapy Massage

This treatment is available in 60 or 90 minute sessions - see Rates section for price details.

This combination of massaging with hot, smooth basalt stones and stone placement on the body helps a person's relaxation reach a deeper level that cannot be achieved with the hand massage. This system of massage, involving oils and hot stones has been used in many different cultures, from ancient times and is now seeing a rise in popularity again!

The massage therapist applies little pressure usually in a hot stone therapy massage and muscle tension seems to melt away more effortlessly. Hot stones stimulate circulation and sedate the nervous system, to add that feeling of complete calm and peace. Cold stones can then also be used to reverse these effects and help flush out toxins from the system and help reinvigorate the body.

Reiki Healing

Reiki Healing is a deeply relaxing treatment for the whole body, especially effective for helping with stress, emotional/spiritual issues, as well as the physical. This treatment is available in 60 or 90 minute sessions and the client remains fully clothed throughout - see Rates section for price details.

Reiki (pronounced 'Ray-Key') is a Japanese word, literally meaning "Universal Life Energy". It is an ancient healing method, that has been used throughout time to work with your personal energy to bring about equilibrium, inner harmony and healing to your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.

Reiki Healing is very useful holistic complement to medical care for conditions and helping to combat:

  • Stress and stress-related ailments
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Issues with self-esteem and mental clarity
  • Fatigue and problems sleeping
  • Pain and tension within the body
  • Relationship problems
  • Grieving and life traumas
  • Sexual/physical/emotional abuse
  • Living with chronic conditions, such as cancer
  • Depleted immune systems, such as after a bad illness

Reiki is also a very good alternative for people who do not feel comfortable being massaged, as all clothing remains on and it is a very non intrusive treatment.

When the flow of life energy within our bodies becomes blocked or disrupted, emotional / physical health problems tend to occur within us. Reiki Healing helps unblock these energy issues, working with re-balancing our chakras, mending our aura, and brings about a deep inner tranquility and grounding calm.

Reiki is not a religion and will work regardless of your belief system. The only pre-requisite is the desire to be healed.

Reiki Healing takes place with the client fully clothed, as comfortable as possible, either lying on a massage couch or sitting on a chair. Closing the eyes and becoming relaxed, the treatment will then begin. The practitioner then gently places their hands, non-intrusively, over various parts of the body. They channel Reiki from the Universe, through their body, and it is felt by the client as a very warm (sometimes cold) sensation.

Everyone experiences different sensations upon each Reiki Healing treatment they receive. The most common experiences are of deep, blissful relaxation, floating, tingling, warmth, heaviness, lightness, movement or release. Some see bright colours, vivid images of people and places.

At the end of the treatment, you may feel invigorated and energised or you may feel dazed and ready to have a nap. Make sure that you have time to rest after your Reiki Healing session if you need to. Go with the flow and how you feel. The Reiki goes on working for days after, and more effectively so when you are sleeping.

Reiki is a very powerful healing source and should be approached with an open mind in order to receive its full benefits in life.

Distant Reiki Healing

This is Reiki Healing (as described above) but sent remotely from me to you, so can be done with no need for hands on treatment. See Rates section for price details.

To perform Distant Healing, I will need you to provide a recent clear face picture of yourself (no hats or sunglasses), which I will use to make a connection to you, to provide the healing. We will arrange a convenient date/time for you to receive your healing, when you will not have any distractions or pressures.

Before each session, I will call you to discuss how you are feeling and what you wish to achieve from the healing. This will take about 5-10 mins usually but will take longer if you are a new client to me, as I will need to ask you more details and get to know you better.

During the session, you should make sure that you:

  • Set aside sufficient time in a quiet, relaxed room to receive your healing
  • Maybe light some incense and/or candles to help enhance your relaxation
  • Turn off all electronic devices (including your mobile phone) for the duration of the healing
  • Close your eyes and breath slowly and deeply. Focusing your breath on any points of stress that you feel in your body
  • Have an open mind and spirit...

The Distant Reiki healing session will last about 30 minutes. During the session you will probably feel warm sensations around the body, especially where I am focusing the energy. Due to the nature of Distant Energy Healing, the Reiki energy might affect you directly either during the session, or several hours after the session.

After the Distant Reiki session, we will have another chat of the phone lasting about 5-10 minutes to discuss your sensations during and after the session.

It usually takes 3 days for all the energy to settle in after the Reiki Healing session. After the session, you could feel some physical and emotional sensations, which can indicate that Reiki energy is working through. If you would like to discuss any of the sensations, you can always get in touch and I will be happy to assist you.

Hopi Ear Candle Therapy

This treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes facial lymphatic drainage and relaxing facial massage - see Rates section for price details.

This is a gentle and non-invasive method of helping clear the ear cavities and sinuses of unwanted build-ups and irritations. The therapy involves a facial lymphatic drainage massage before the hollow candles are used in each ear, by gently inserting them into the very top of the ear canal, so a seal is formed. Then each candle is lit, secured by the therapist, creating a vacuum, which gently draws out debris from the cavities within the ear/head.

After each ear has been treated in this way, the therapy is finished with a lovely relaxing facial massage, to help further relax the muscles in the head and help the loosening and movement of unwanted build-ups.

I use only the most superior quality Hopi Ear Candles from Biosun. Further information about the ingredients, history and benefits of the Hopi Ear Candles.

Lymphatic Drainage

This treatment lasts approximately 60 minutes and includes gentle strokes to help stimulate the Lymphatic system to make it flow and become more efficient. The treatment includes face, neck, upper chest, arms, abdomen, legs and back - see Rates section for price details.

This treatment is very gentle and works on stimulating the Lymph nodes and associated vessels and capillaries around the body. The Lymph system takes out cell waste, proteins, excess fluid, viruses and bacteria from the body and processes it. Lymph does not naturally flow like blood in the body, and needs to be manually stimulated to avoid stagnant lymph, which can lead to tiredness, a weak immune system and water swellings around the body, among other things...

If you are suffering with any of the below then you may well find Lymphatic Drainage beneficial for you...

  • Weak immune system (i.e. you keep getting regular colds, etc)
  • Slow Immune system (recently slowly recovering from illness and want to speed up recovery)
  • Tiredness and sluggish feeling most of the time
  • Feeling like you need to detoxify your system
  • Minor Oedema (water swellings under skin)
  • After surgery to help with shifting swellings, remove tissue congestions and minimize scar formations
  • Recovering from sports injury, to help with swellings
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Fatigue syndrome
  • Digestive disorders
  • Hormone imbalances

If you have recently had surgery then you must check with your medical care staff to ensure that Lymphatic Drainage is suitable.

Smaller, regular sessions of the treatment are recommended after surgery, to help with swellings and scar tissue. Please discuss this with me and I can offer you a good, preferential deal on a number of 30 minute treatments.

Fire Cupping Therapy

You may already be aware of Cupping, as it has started to become popular in recent years, especially amongst sports professionals. The cups I use are thick, robust glass and the fire is briefly put inside the cup to create a vacuum, so that the cup will stick to (pre-oiled) skin. It is an ancient part of Chinese Medicine, designed to draw out toxins, lift out muscle adhesions, knots, remove blood stagnation and inflammation around muscles (all these things can cause long term pain in the body). Toxins are drawn out of the body to just below the skin, where the lymphatic system lies and this then draws in the toxins and processes them, which leaves you detoxified and your immune system efficiency improved. Cupping is like reverse massage, in that it draws OUT, whereas massage pushes INto the body.

The intensity of the vacuum and pressure in the cups can be altered to suit your comfort and needs. The more pressure you can take the better, as it will help the effectiveness of the drawing out process. The marks left after the cupping treatment are only darker where a problem has been found, such as blood stagnation, inflammation or toxins drawn out. Lighter marks will disappear within a couple of days. Darker ones will take a week or so to disappear.

So if you are attending any event where your back is exposed and you feel sensitive about having marks, then please have the treatment at least 10 days before such an event. Also, do not use sun beds or sunbathe whilst you have dark marks on the skin. If you are going on holiday then use strong Factor 50 sun screen on such areas whilst in the sun.

As part of the treatment, I will be moving the cups around the back, which is like massage but with the "picking up" suction feeling of the cup, which feels great in stimulating tissue and also moving and working on stiff joints and areas. I will then place the cups on the back of the body, checking that you feel comfortable, and these are then left 10-15 minutes, to allow sufficient time for the drawing out process to work. I will then remove the cups and take a picture, so that you can see the results and discuss what has been found.

If you are suffering with any of the below then you may well find Fire Cupping beneficial for you...

  • Pain caused by inflammation, lack of blood flow (stagnation)
  • Pain cause by adhesion, sticking and knots in muscles
  • Weak immune system (ie you keep getting regular colds, etc)
  • Slow Immune system (recently slowly recovering from illness and want to speed up recovery)
  • Emotional stress in the body
  • Tiredness and sluggish feeling most of the time
  • Feeling like you need to detoxify your system

Before booking a Fire Cupping session, I will need to check with all clients (new and existing) about current health conditions and which medications or supplements you are currently taking. This is just to check if any thing is incompatible or inadvisable to having the treatment.
